MECHANICAL SEAL

Mechanical seals are a very effective tool. Each pump or motor has a rotating shaft, while mechanically holding fluid or gas at the wet end of the pump. Mechanical floods consist mainly of a "rotary sealing surface" with a rotating mechanism that rotates at the same pump speed as well as a "fixed sealing surface" that attaches to the rotary sealing surface using a gland Or in some pump models, a pressure set (using a spring assembly or a metal accordion) that rotates the surface to prevent contamination and leakage when the pump is not operating and also when the pump shaft is

rotating. Holds firmly against the surface
